[Action: Somewhere in the village - Sakura Only]

[Taken from the battlefield, Hinata let out a gasp before she found herself waking up on the ground. She slowly stood, taking in the fact that she was wearing clothing that was decidedly not her uniform from the war. In fact, her arms and legs were sticking out of the flimsy white dress, making her feel extremely under-dressed.

As she turned around, she saw a flash of purple that seemed to remind her a little of the jacket from her normal outfit. She reached out to grab at the colorful thing and brought back a handful of lavender feathers. Suddenly, she was overcome with nausea and lightheadedness before she passed out, never noticing the familiar face of her pink-haired comrade from Konoha as the blackness took over her again.]

[Video: For others, Two days later]

[Have a very confused looking hime-type, Luceti. Complete with the self-conscious blush.] E-excuse me. M-my name is Hyuuga Hinata. I have just arrived here to this village. [The camera shifts to point out her lavender wings.] If they serve no practical usage, why are they there? And am I the only one who discovered a brand on the back of their neck? They seem rather obvious.

[Hinata nods, letting her eyes activate and spotting the other girl easily through the walls.]

I am in the apartment next door to you and Ino-san. I can come over there if you wish.

[ There's a humiliated silence on the other side of the feed. How did she not recognize her home in the video. ]

I knew that! [ Not really. ] I just thought there was some weird echo going on. [ soooo Tenten... which one is it?! ]

[She's a good friend and doesn't mention Tenten's faux pas. Besides, she's only been here a few days and doesn't need to alienate anyone from Konoha.

The only sign she gives that she's caught the other girl telling white lies is a little smile as she waits for her to make up her mind.]

[Hinata will ignore the pink-haired girl's comment. She doesn't want to think about her own love life. It's maddening and saddening at the same time. Part of her is angry at Neji for jumping in front of the Juubi's attack and dying when she should have been the one to do that. As unreasonable as those feelings are, she can't stop them.]

I-I believe that I will pass on the party. [Her clothes! She's spotted her flak jacket, pants and sandals—the exact outfit she'd been wearing for two straight days, but it appears to have been laundered and folded up properly.] A-ah, excuse me so that I can change!

[The words are barely out of her mouth before she disappears into the changing room, making quick work of the white sundress and putting on her clothes, happy to have the mesh shirt and bra back just as much as the pants and jacket. She comes out as quickly as she can, ignoring the slight pain that squashing her wings give her.]

[She thinks for a moment.] Does super strength and the ability to summon slugs of all sizes count?

[She gives him a sunny smile in return.] Okay! I will make a point to visit you and your family when I begin to acquaint myself with more of the village!

[That's fine, Caius. Hinata's used to it by now. And she does understand the rules, so it's all good!]

I might have...accidentally removed a few feathers upon my arrival. I...I became slightly ill. Is that normal?

[Hinata's eyes grow a little dull. More fighting, and for a cause she wasn't even sure she understood.]

We are drafted to fight? Against whom? By whom? I have not been able to fully find answers in this journal that was left to me when I arrived here.

W-what?

Yeah, you get sick when the wings are damaged or if any feathers fall out. They grow back pretty quickly though, I think.

[He tries not to lose any feathers himself so he's not too sure on the regrow time.]

How did you accidentally manage to lose some feathers anyway?

[Of course Kiba-kun could read her well enough to know how she really felt. They had been teammates for nearly four years now and he was her closest friend. A water smile is about as good as she can give him, even if it doesn't really reach her eyes.]

I will do so. I have already promised Lee-san that I would cook dinner for him and Neji-niisan soon.

A-Asuma-sensei! [She bows, despite knowing that it is only the man's voice through the journal.]

I-I did not think that...I would speak to you again. I will take what you have said into consideration! Of course!

Thank goodness! [She heaves a sigh of relief so big that it would look odd on anyone else, but she somehow manages to make it a little dignified.

But that's short-lived as her cheeks redden pretty quickly.]

I-I-Imighthavepulledthemoutwhiletryingtofindoutwhattheywere.

...You're cooking dinner for them? Today?

You just got here. You should just take it easy.

[She looks at her best friend carefully through the journal.]

N-no, not today. I would like to speak with Neji-niisan first to make sure that it is at a time that is convenient for both him and Lee-san. Although, if you would like it, I would love to have you over for dinner tomorrow evening.

Oh. [he pauses.] Yeah.

[But he shakes his head, dispelling whatever thought had invaded his mind. Smiles.]

That'd be fine. As long as you don't cook anything.

[Again, she looks at him, confused.]

W-what?

[She's finally able to say something other than that one word.]

Then what...did you want to eat if I do not cook?

[Well, time to be useful! Ino will then send this guide to Hinata's journal.]

There. I just sent you a guide that Shikamaru gave me when I first arrived here. It's all up for your perusal and I think it's a good read. Anyway, to put it simply, we fight for the Malnosso and we usually fight against the Third Party. These drafts aren't voluntary so if your name's announced, you don't have much of a choice. So far, I've only been chosen once. [That was when she was still months old in this place. At least, Temari was with her that time.] More information about that on Section 8 of the guide.

First one? Definitely. Second one? What?

[It's easy to be angry at people for dying; Sakura knows this well enough, and if Hinata voices it, she won't condemn the thought.

[Still, though, it's easier to think on simpler things.]

Of course!

[And she'll wait for Hinata to change, giving her an approving look when she emerges properly dressed.]

Feels weird to have your wings stuffed underneath, doesn't it? You'll get used to it eventually, but I still double-take at mine every now and then -- it's just not right, you know?

[She's just making conversation, really -- trying to offer Hinata something... well, not normal precisely, but less emotional to think about. Coming straight off the battlefield as she did...]

[Hinata knows her anger is unreasonable and as such she shoves it far down. Even here, she cannot afford to be anything other than the supposed heir to the Hyuuga clan. Her own sense of honor won't allow her to.

She isn't surprised that she was unable to hide the grimace, but she does appreciate the sort of normal conversation that Sakura-san is giving her the chance to engage, the chance to think about something else.]

They are slightly painful, like a pulled muscle, I suppose, but nothing that I cannot adjust to quickly. I-I agree that they are unusual.

A-ah, in...on my world, if you spend enough time training, you can summon animals to assist you? N-Naruto-kun can summon toads like Jiraiya-sama. Tsunade-sama summons slugs. Kakashi-sensei can summon ninken, um, dogs to track things for him.

[She looks at him with a blush over her pale face.] I-is that not the case for you?

[Hinata nods as the file is sent to her journal.]

I will look this over when we are done speaking, Ino-san. Thank you very much for sharing this with me.
